Colloborative Approach to Medication

Psychologists and psychotherapists focus extensively on treating emotional and mental health issues with various modes of therapy. If the therapist’s evaluation of a client indicates the possibility of taking medication to treat the condition, then a referral may be arranged to consult with a psychiatrist or other medical doctor. Through collaboration with each other, the medication would be managed by the psychiatrist while the therapy would continue with the client's therapist.
