Not Taking New Clients

For the past 30 years it has been my good fortune to work with individuals, families, couples, adolescents and children from diverse backgrounds, ages, socio-economic, educational and ethnicities. My experiences as a clinician, child protective services worker and supervisor, executive director of a child development corporation, director of an annual summer family life clinic have provided many opportunities for me to develop the expertise and skills needed to work with those who face the challenges of living helping them to successfully change destructive behaviors, improve communication, resolve the conflicts in relationships and live life more abundantly.

It is my belief that those who are willing to do the work, may successfully improve the quality of their lives. I also believe that crisis is often the catalyst for change providing people with the opportunity to resolve both family of origin and or current dysfunctions. For those who have experienced trauma in childhood or are currently experiencing post-traumatic stress the focus is on assisting them to take control of their lives. Depression and co-dependency are addressed using structured exercises and cognitive behavior modalities.

While I am a practicing Christian, I respect the fact that people approach their spirituality according to their personal beliefs. Based on their desires the choice to include spirituality in the clinical setting belongs to them. I also respect the sexual orientation of clients without prejudice. My goal for all clients is to provide them with a safe place to deal with the issues for which they are seeking therapy.

My life journey includes: being married and divorced, mother of three adult children and their spouses, the grandparent of three adults, the daughter of immigrants and a native of San Francisco, a 49er season ticket holder.

I am available for appointments, usually on Thursdays as early as 7:00 AM and throughout the day until 9:00 PM. I invite you to call if you would like to discuss the possibility of working together.
